Caribbean Stud poker is a popular variation of stud poker played online and in real casinos. This game was based on 5-Card Stud, but quickly developed its own unique gameplay.
This card game is similar to blackjack in a way as each player competes against the dealer. This is different from the Texas Holdem community card poker, though the same poker hands are involved.
Online Caribbean Stud poker is a great alternative for poker players who want to play against the dealer.
How to Play Caribbean Stud Poker?
If you’re new to stud poker, you won’t know how to play Caribbean Stud instantly. Luckily, it’s easy to learn the rules and it’ll take just a few minutes.
To start the game, each player must place an ante bet. Additionally, you can place a £1 progressive bet. If you do, you might win special jackpots if you are dealt a high poker hand such as:
- Royal Flush
- Straight Flush
- 4 of a Kind
- Full House
With the progressive bet, you can win even if your hand loses to the dealer.

Aside from that, each player and the dealer get five cards. Only one of the dealer’s cards is visible to the players. According to that, you have to decide whether to fold or call. If you call, you have to place another bet which is 2x your ante.
After that, the dealer reveals their hand. If it has at least an ace and a king or a pair, your hands are compared. If your hand is better:
- You gain double your ante
- Plus, up to 100:1 of the secondary bet, depending on your hand strength
If the dealer doesn’t have the required cards, they’ll fold and you’ll win automatically. In this case, however, your secondary bet is pushed.
Caribbean Stud poker online offers an interesting twist to the classic poker game with jackpots on top.
